Recently, on January 3, 2025, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) paid a visit and worked at the Nam Neun 1 construction site in the Lao PDR on the beginning of the new year. This was an important activity demonstrating C47 leadership’s strong commitment to accelerating the construction progress and ensuring quality and safety standards throughout the project implementation process.

During the working program, Chairman Pham Nam Phong and Mr. Lê Đông Lâm, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors (non-executive) conducted field visits and inspected important items within the project’s construction plan. Thanks to the experienced workforce and a large number of new, modern, and synchronized equipment chains, along with close supervision from the Company’s leadership, especially the BOD, the site has completed many items to date, including: 100% completion of the flood spillway cover removal, Completion of excavation at the outlet of the diversion tunnel, Construction of 12 executive office buildings and 2 worker houses; Completion of installation of the construction power system to the camp area, the TC6 construction power line, and power supply to Quarry 4A for stone crushing operations; Completion of the construction and domestic water supply system, leading water from elevation +486m to the auxiliary mixing station and camp area; Excavation work at the diversion tunnel inlet reaching elevation +394m.  Currently, the site is swiftly constructing the housing and working area for the Investor and continuing to install the construction power system for the outlet area of the diversion tunnel and the energy line.

The Nam Neun 1 hydropower project is designed with 2 units, with a total capacity of 124MW, located in Ban Phianghong, Muang Nonghet, Xiengkhuang Province, Lao PDR, invested by Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Co., Ltd.,. This project holds significant importance for the Investor, requiring strict quality and construction progress standards, thus demanding the contractor to organize construction scientifically, methodically, urgently, and with the highest responsibility.

The cooperation agreement between Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) and Mien Trung University of Civil Engineering (MUCE) in the areas of recruitment, training, career development orientation, job exploitation, internship opportunities, and labor recruitment is a fitting idea that brings practical benefits to both parties.

Recently, on December 28, 2024, at Mien Trung University of Civil Engineering, C47 and MUCE held a signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement, marking an important milestone in the close coordination between the enterprise and the university, aiming to enhance the quality of education, support career orientation, internships, and job placement for students after graduation.

After several meetings, C47 and MUCE agreed to the following cooperation contents: Agreement on the policy of opening training courses in some majors that meet the needs of C47 in Da Nang city and Phu Yen province; C47 will sponsor scholarships for MUCE students at appropriate times/programs; C47 will assign advisors, experts, and leaders to support the development of MUCE’s curriculum and training programs; MUCE and C47 will develop plans for C47 leaders and experts to directly participate in teaching some modules, extracurricular programs, skill training, and experience sharing; Priority recruitment of MUCE graduates to work at C47 when needed; Providing opportunities for MUCE students to intern at C47; Promoting C47’s image through MUCE’s media channels in related events.

The cooperation between C47 and MUCE not only brings benefits and maximizes the capabilities and strengths of each party but also creates favorable conditions for students—the future workforce. Students will have access to a practical working environment, enhance their skills, and have opportunities to participate in C47’s large projects.

C47 is an enterprise with nearly half a century of tradition in the construction field, especially with outstanding capabilities in the construction of irrigation and hydropower projects. In the last 15 years, C47 has completed more than 30 irrigation and hydropower projects across the country, valued at over 20,000 billion VND. Recently, on November 6, 2024, Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) Pham Nam Phong led a delegation from Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) to visit, inspect the implementation of the Nam Neun 1 hydropower project, and attend an important kick-off meeting with representatives of the Investor (CĐT) and Supervisory Consultant (TVGS) at the site. This event marks an important milestone in the initial phase of the project’s construction, demonstrating the strong commitment of C47’s leadership (the leading member of the consortium) to accelerating construction progress and ensuring quality and safety standards during implementation.

During the working program, the delegation conducted field visits and inspected major items on the project’s critical path. Immediately after inspecting the construction items, the delegation held an important meeting with the Investor, Supervisory Consultant, Design Consultant, and representatives of partners and related units. The parties discussed in detail the construction plan, technical solutions, and coordination steps to ensure the project’s progress according to the schedule.

The Nam Neun 1 hydropower project is designed with 2 units, with a total capacity of 124MW, located in Ban Phianghong, Muang Nonghet, Xiengkhuang Province, Lao PDR, invested by Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Co., Ltd., with a construction period of 48 months. Upon completion, the project will significantly contribute to the region’s power supply, drive economic development, improve local people’s living standards, and sell electricity to the Vietnamese Government through the 220KV grid.

Since receiving the site and organizing construction, the consortium of Construction Joint Stock Company 47 and Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 3, led by C47, has accelerated the implementation of specific tasks: Completed topographic surveys, geological drilling surveys, submitted FS review documents, and will proceed with specialized surveys for design purposes such as horizontal tunneling, geophysical surveys, etc. Currently, the consortium is implementing auxiliary items such as: Construction roads (TC6, HT2, VH2); Camp area (temporary housing for the Investor, contractor’s housing area); Quarry 4A, entrance, and exit. The implementation is closely following the construction progress and site handover schedule of the Investor, with all handed-over construction sites being simultaneously and effectively deployed.

Regarding the mobilization of manpower and equipment to ensure the project’s progress. Since the contract implementation, C47 has focused on experienced personnel and a large number of equipment to ensure construction progress at the site. As of now, C47 has mobilized over 150 personnel and 80 pieces of equipment, including cars, excavators, bulldozers, drills, etc. In the coming time, the Investor will continue to hand over the remaining areas, and C47 will continue to increase manpower and equipment to organize construction, ensuring progress at the foundation pit, spillway, quarry 6, construction road, and right bank area; especially proceeding to access and construct the diversion tunnel entrance to ensure water diversion by November 2025.

With extensive experience and capability in constructing many national key projects such as: Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Project (Dak Nong Province), Da Nhim Expansion Hydropower Project (Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan Provinces), Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Project (Kon Tum Province), Trung Son Hydropower Project (Thanh Hoa Province), Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project (Phase 1), Tan My Irrigation System (Ninh Thuan Province), Dinh Binh Reservoir, Dong Mit Reservoir (Binh Dinh Province), Nuoc Trong Reservoir (Quang Ngai Province)… C47 fully masters construction technologies, possesses experienced personnel and modern equipment to organize construction, ensuring the project’s progress and quality.

The project “Green Journey, Digital Knowledge” hopes to bring positive changes to the community, helping the younger generation in disadvantaged areas improve their living conditions and facilitate easier access to knowledge and technology.

On the morning of November 10th, Ky Anh District, Ha Tinh Province, in collaboration with sponsoring units, organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the “Green Journey – Digital Knowledge” project at Ky Hai Primary and Secondary School. The project is mainly sponsored by Construction Joint Stock Company 47 and Vu Phong Energy Group.

The “Green Journey – Digital Knowledge” project at Ky Hai Primary and Secondary School is the first in a series of 10 major projects celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Construction Joint Stock Company 47. The goal is to build and improve infrastructure at schools in remote areas while promoting digital transformation in education.

The project will implement activities such as building solar-powered restroom systems, providing Chromebooks along with the Google Workspace for Education ecosystem, with a total budget of over 500 million VND. Xanh Yeu Thuong is the main management and construction unit, operating the green journey – digital knowledge system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Nam Phong, Chairman of the BOD of Construction Joint Stock Company 47 and Vu Phong Energy Group, shared: “With the cooperation of many parties, working towards sustainable development goals, I believe the ‘Green Journey, Digital Knowledge’ project will bring positive changes to the community, especially for students, in terms of green and digital transformation. Mr. Vo Ta Cuong, Vice Chairman of Ky Anh District People’s Committee, thanked the sponsors and requested related departments, the Ky Hai commune authorities, and Ky Hai Primary and Secondary School to create the best conditions for the construction unit.

On October 26, 2024, at the 11th floor hall on of Hai Au Bien Cuong Hotel, No. 8 Bien Cuong Street, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) and Vu Phong Energy Group and partners including: Xanh Yeu Thuong, AI Education and SUN Edu sign MOU to launch the “Green Journey, Digital Knowledge” project. The project is a multi-stakeholder cooperation initiative, aiming to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of C47’s establishment, with the goal of building and improving infrastructure of schools in the remote areas, while promoting digital transformation in education. The project will implement activities such as building a toilet system combined with solar energy, providing Chromebooks and the Google Workspace for Education ecosystem.

The ceremony welcomed various leaders from Binh Dinh province were Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of PPC, along with representatives of the leaders of provincial departments, agencies and orginizations as well as People’s Committees and Police Department of Ngo May ward, Nguyen Van Cu ward. C47 and Vu Phong Energy Group, as main sponsors, were represented by Mr. Pham Nam Phong – Chairman of the Board of both C47 and Vu Phong Energy Group, Mr. Duong Minh Quang – Member of the Board cum CEO of C47, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tri – CEO of Vu Phong Energy Group, representatives of the Board, the Executive Board, and heads of departments from both main sponsors; representatives of AI Education and Xanh Yeu Thuong; leaders of partners, clients of C47 and Vu Phong Energy Group were also present.

The “Green Journey, Digital Knowledge” project will implement activities such as building solar-powered restroom facilities, providing Chromebooks and the Google Workspace for Education ecosystem. With a projected budget over five billion dong, the project will be run in 10 primary and secondary schools, starting at Ky Hai Primary and Secondary School, Ky Anh District, Ha Tinh Province. Early 2025, the project will be expanded to Vinh Thanh Town Primary School and Vinh Son Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, Vinh Thanh District, Binh Dinh Province, with the goal of bringing positive impacts to more than 5,000 students each year in remote areas in Vietnam and will continue to expand to other countries in the region.

In his directive speech at the Ceremony, Mr. Lam Hai Giang – Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh PPC expressed the interest of Binh Dinh Provincial Leaders in the work of “Green and Digital Transformation”, which is one of the mandatory requirements for future development. The “Green Journey, Digital Technology” project aligns well with current needs, and he hopes that with sponsorship from C47, Vu Phong Energy Group, and project partners, the initiative will bring practical benefits, providing students in remote areas with improved conditions and environments for their growth.
