On November 22, 2023, in Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR, Phongsubthavy Group Sole Co., Ltd (PSG) and the Contractor Consortium, leaded by Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 3 (PECC3) awarding and signing EPC Contract for Engineering, Procurement and Construction of Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Project valued USD184,999,999.
Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Project includes 2 units with total capacity of 124MW, built in Phianghong village, Nonghet district, Xiengkhuang province, Lao PDR. The Contract shall include construction for Main Work items: Main Dam, Spillway, Diversion Tunnel, Intake, Headrace Tunnel, Powerhouse and Switchyard, etc., the construction period will be 48 months.
PSG is one of Laos’s largest private companies investing in energy sector, with project portfolio of up to 2,000MW. PSG currently owned 24% of shares and is one of major shareholders of EDL Generation Public Company (EDL-Generation) – an enterprise owned by Électricité du Laos (EDL). Currently, the PSG is under building of 220kV Nam Sam – Nong Cong (Thanh Hoa) and 220kV Nam Mo – Tuong Duong (Nghe An) transmission lines to provide electricity to Vietnam, promptly adding Vietnam North’s electricity needs in 2022.
Besides of Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Project, C47 is under construction of Nam Phak Hydropower Project in Lao PDR with costed VND 800 billion. And also undertaking construction of large domestic projects such as: Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project (480 MW – Hoa Binh province); Phu Phong Weir Dam Project; Tan An – Dap Da Weir Dams System; Cat Tien – Diem Van Coastal Highway Section (Binh Dinh province); Ta Hoet Reservoir Project; Ka Zam Reservoir Project (Lam Dong province), etc.
By signing and receiving the EPC Contract, C47 continues to affirm its position, capacity, reputation, and professionalism in management, operation, and construction of domestic and international hydropower and irrigation projects. At the same time, show its suitability on development orientation that the Company’s BOD set out for the 2020 – 2025 term.
According to the Plan, the project is expected to complete for grid connection in the fourth quarter of 2027 and export electricity to Vietnam.
