The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of Construction Joint Stock Company No. 47 (CC47) – a leading enterprise in the field of energy infrastructure, hydropower, and irrigation construction in Vietnam and Laos. On this special occasion, CC47 officially announces its commitment to offset 100% of the electricity consumption across all office operations and operating facilities with renewable energy.

This commitment is realized through the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) system, sourced from both internationally certified hydropower and rooftop solar power. Notably, a major portion of the renewable energy certificates is generated from Van Phong Hydropower Plant – a subsidiary of CC47 – ensuring transparency in energy sourcing and enhancing internal control over the quality of energy consumed.

In addition to internal energy sources, VP Carbon – a member company of Vu Phong Energy Group – also supplies a portion of I-RECs from certified rooftop solar projects to support CC47 and its subsidiaries in transitioning to clean energy. Among these, Seagull Hotel – a 4-star beachfront property in Quy Nhon and a member of the CC47 system – has successfully completed the transition and now operates entirely on renewable energy, aiming to meet the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard.
This transformation not only reflects the company’s environmental responsibility but also marks a strategic milestone in this pivotal year. “Our 50th anniversary is a time to reflect on our development journey and to clearly define the future direction. Renewable energy adoption is an integral part of CC47’s long-term sustainable development strategy, aligned with global trends and the expectations of our partners and shareholders,” shared Mr. Pham Nam Phong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC47 and Vu Phong Energy Group.
Pursuing authentic sustainability rather than symbolic “greenwashing”, CC47 integrates internal clean energy sources with internationally recognized emissions transparency standards. This commitment is expected to pave the way for broader ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, as the construction and energy sectors progressively align with Vietnam’s national Net Zero emission targets.
As part of its sustainable development mission and commitment to social responsibility, on July 7, 2025, CC47, Vu Phong Energy Group, and the initiative “Xanh Yêu Thương,” in collaboration with local partners, commenced construction of two new schools under the project “Green Journey, Digital Knowledge” in Vinh Thanh and Vinh Son communes, Gia Lai Province. Each school is expected to receive a sponsorship package of VND 500 million, including complete computer systems (35 sets for Vinh Thanh and 25 sets for Vinh Son), and standardized sanitation facilities, helping to improve learning and living conditions for students in highland areas.
