Morning of August 19, 2025, in Phu Tho Province, the Inauguration and Grid Connection Ceremony of Unit No. 1 (Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project) took place – one of the key highlights in the series of 250 projects celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
Mr. Duong Minh Quang – General Director of Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (CC47) attended together with Mr. Mai Van Chinh – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – General Director of Vietnam Electricity (EVN); along with EVN leaders, leaders of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union; PMU Power Project Management Board No.1; the construction consortium; partners, banks, and financial institutions. Their presence reaffirmed the Company’s commitment and responsibility in accompanying national key energy projects.
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh presented flowers to congratulate Vietnam Electricity and the contractor consortium at the inauguration and commissioning ceremony of Unit No. 1, Hoa Binh Hydropower Expansion Plant.
In the project with a total investment of over VND 9,220 billion, CC47 is a consortium member of package 1XL-HB with a total value of more than VND 3,000 billion, directly undertaking the construction of the water diversion tunnel with the largest diameter in Vietnam (11m), as well as the auxiliary tunnel, expanded spillway tunnel, new spillway tunnel, and many other critical items.
With extraordinary efforts, CC47 successfully completed the work ahead of schedule, making a vital contribution to enabling Unit No. 1 of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Expansion Project to generate electricity and connect to the national grid at 4:27 AM on August 19, 2025, coinciding with the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This milestone affirms CC47’s capacity, reputation, and resilience in executing Vietnam’s “project of the century.”

Also, in the series of events on August 19 in Dong Nai, Mr. Pham Nam Phong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC47 attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Tri An Hydropower Expansion Plant with a total investment of more than VND 3,900 billion. The simultaneous presence at both major projects – Hoa Binh Expansion and Tri An Expansion at the same time is a clear testament to CC47’s role as a leading hydropower contractor. This involvement is not only technical but also reflects CC47’s consistent presence in the nation’s milestone events.
