On November 23, 2023, Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee held Groundbreaking Ceremony for construction of Headworks – Ka Zam Reservoir Project in Don Duong District, Lam Dong Province. Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) participated as a member of the joint venture contractor, who undertaking construction of the Package No. 12: Construction and Installation of Headwork Items, with total value of VND198,822 billion.
Ka Zam Reservoir Project is Group B project, an agricultural and rural development project of which the Headworks is grade II, the Canal system is grade IV, built in Ka Do commune, Don Duong district, Lam Dong province. Package 12 is the largest package of the project, with the scope of works including: Construction of Earth Dam with crest length of 280.7m, crest EL.+1,066.00 m, width of 8.0m; Piano Type Free-flow Spillway with its sill EL.+1,063.5 m; Intake Item with its inlet sill EL.+1,044.50 m; the access road combined with management, operation and bypass road for reservoir flood is 2,578m long; Operation Electricity; Management House and Monitoring System. Construction time is 820 days.
Upon completion, Ka Zam Reservoir will provide irrigation water for 818 hectares of agricultural land, including 67 hectares of rice and 751 hectares of vegetables and crops; aquaculture, flood reduction and landscape improvement, etc.; create domestic water supply for Ka Do commune and surrounding areas; supply water for Ka Do Industrial Cluster with capacity of 2,500m3/day and night.
Over 48-year journey of formation and development, C47 has gradually mastered the construction technology of irrigation, hydroelectric, civil and industrial works national widely. Among them, there were new technologies deployed for the first time by C47 such as the Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) technology, Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) technology, etc., with a lot of important projects costed thousands of billions of Vietnamese dongs which highly appreciated by the clients and the Authorities. Over years, C47 has won the trust of many partners and clients, and has been trusted by the project owners to awarded as the contractor for construction of many irrigation and hydropower projects nation-wide. Each project undertaken by C47 ensured the economic efficiency, on-schedule progress, quality assurance, and technical and aesthetic strict requirements, while ensuring the working safety and environmental protection.
With long tradition in the sector of construction of irrigation and hydropower works, C47 has being and is making an important contribution to the management and effective use of water resources, ensuring water security, and reservoir and dam safety to sustainably serve production and people’s lives. Therefore, Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) is one of the important Sustainable Development Goals that C47 always strives towards in its development journey.
