On January 10, 2021, the Commencement ceremony of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant was held in Hoa Binh. This is a special grade project, built on the main stream of Da River, in Hoa Binh city. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended and issued a groundbreaking order.

Attending the ceremony were Mrs. Truong My Hoa – Former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; On behalf of Central leaders, there were representatives of leaders of the Government Office, Central Ministries, Departments, Branches, State Capital Management Committee in enterprises. Regarding the leaders of Hoa Binh province, there were: Mr. Ngo Van Tuan – Secretary of Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee; leaders and former leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, departments, and departments of Hoa Binh province; On the side of Vietnam Electricity, there were: Mr. Duong Quang Thanh – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Members; Mr. Thai Phu Ne – Former Member of the Party Central Committee, Former Minister of Energy; On the side of Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (Contractor consortium member), there were Mr. Truong Nhat Quang – Advisor to the Board of Management (BOM); Mr. Le Trung Nam – Chairman of the Board of Management; Mr. Pham Nam Phong – Vice Chairman of the Board of Management; Mr. Ta Nam Binh – Member of the Board of Management cum Head of Internal Audit Committee; Mr. Duong Minh Quang – Member of the Board of Management cum General Director, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hai – Member of the Board of Management cum Deputy General Director; Head and Deputy Head of functional departments of the Company; Unit Representatives of Design Consulting, Supervisory Consulting and inhabitants in the project area.

The Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project is built on the right bank of the existing Hoa Binh hydroelectric dam. The Powerhouse is in the territory of Phuong Lam ward. The Intake gate and inlet canal are located in Thai Binh ward, Hoa Binh city, Hoa Binh province. The project has been approved by the Prime Minister in terms of the Pre-Feasibility Study Report, invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), and assigned Power Project Management Unit 1 to represent the Investor. The project has a total capacity of 480MW, including 2 units, each with a capacity of 240 MW. The average annual power generation output is about 488.3 million kWh / year. The project is predicted to bring about efficiency after its completion and on the operation such as: Increasing the capacity of generating peak coverage capacity for the national power system, creating favorable conditions maximize the annual discharge of excess water in the flood season of the existing Hoa Binh hydropower plant to generate electricity; Improving frequency regulation and stability capacity of the national power system; contributing to cost reduction of the system; Reducing the working intensity of the existing units, thereby prolonging the life of equipment, saving maintenance and repair costs.

To participate in the construction of this project, Construction Joint Stock Company 47 previously participated in the construction of numerous key national projects, invested by Vietnam Electricity, as follows: Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Project (Dak Nong Province); Srepok 4 Hydropower Project (Dak Lak Province); Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Expansion Project (Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan Provinces); Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Project (Kon Tum province); Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4A and Song Bung 5 (Quang Nam province); A Luoi Hydropower Plant (Thua Thien Hue province); Trung Son Hydropower Project (Thanh Hoa province) … The works are highly appreciated by the Investor for quality, progress and art.

According to the projected progress, Unit 1 of the project will generate electricity in the third quarter of 2024, unit 2 will generate electricity and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024. After completion, The Existing and the new hydropower plants will reach the capacity of 2400 MW.

On December 16^th, 2020, the Break-through Ceremony of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Expansion Project took place at D’Ran Town, Don Duong Commune, Lam Dong Province with participation of reprentatives from Da Nhim – Ham Thuan – Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company under Electricity Generation 1, Construction Joint Stock Company 47, and oher related-parties.

The Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Expansion Project contributes a design capacity of 80MW, increasing the total capacity of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant from 160MW to 240MW. The amount of electricity will rise an annual average of 99 million kWh. According to the approved plan, the project will keep the existing reservoir, spillway dam and construct additional work items such as: Inlet Channel – Intake; Pressure Tunnel, Surge Tank; Valve House; Penstocks; Powerhouse – Renovation of Outlet Channel; Expansion of the Current Switchyard.

In accordance with the design of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Expansion Project, the Supply Channel has 4.885 meters in length (constructed by TBM technology). However, after having bored 3.739 meters, the construction process encountered geologic difficulties, therefore the remaining tunnel was executed by the Drilling and Blasting Method (DBM), starting from February 2020. After 10 months, the tunnel breakthrough was eventually completed on 14/12/2020, two months earlier than expected, with volume of 929 md. This event marks a fundamental milestone signifying the begining of permanent support phase. The project is expected to be completed by 7/2021.

On December 15th, 2020, Vietnam Electricity and the Joint Venture: Truong Son Construction Corporation – Construction Joint Stock Company 47 – Lilama Joint Stock 10 oganised a signing ceremony for Construction Package 1XL-HB “Construction and Installation of Hoa Binh hydropower Plant Expansion Project”.

Attending the signing ceremony, regarding the leader of the State Capital Management Committee at the enterprise, there were Mr. Ho Sy Hung – Vice Chairman of the Committee; The leaders of Vietnam Electricity were Mr. Duong Quang Thanh – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Members of the Group, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board cum General Director, Mr. Pham Hong Phuong – Member of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of the Group; Mr. and Mrs. of the Department of Energy, State Capital Management Committee, Leaders of the Departments of Vietnam Electricity, Leaders of Power Project Management Unit 1.

In terms of Construction Joint Stock Company 47, there were Mr. Le Trung Nam – Chairman of the Board, Mr. Duong Minh Quang – Member of the Board cum General Director and other representatives of Board of Management, Board of Directors, Managers, Deputy Managers from varied deparments of CC47.

The Prime Minister has approved the Pre-feasibility Study Report concerning the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project. The Vietnam Electricity is the employer and assigned the Power Project Management 1 as an investor’s representative. The project has a total capacity of 480MW, including 2 plant units, each with a capacity of 240 MW. The average annual power output is about 488.3 million kWh / year. After being completed and put into operation, it will bring about efficiency: Increase the capacity for the national power system, maximize the exploitation of the annual discharge of excess water in the flood season of the existing Hoa Binh hydropower plant to generate electricity; Improve frequency regulation and stability capacity of the national power system; contribute to cost reduction of the system; Reduce the working intensity of the existing units, thereby prolonging the life of the equipment, saving maintenance and repair costs.

Package 1XL-HB “Construction and installation of the Hoa Binh hydropower plant expansion project” is the largest package of the entire project with the value of the package up to more than 3,100 billion VND, with complicated surroundings conditions, location on the heart of the city, the wide scope of construction volume. Components of the scope of work range from construction of hydroelectric works, construction of two water tunnels and installation of all powerhouse equipment and penstocks. This package has an important influence on all other bidding packages, deciding the overall progress of the project.

On December 5, 2020, Vu A Dinh Scholarships, “ For Truong Sa – Hoang Sa” Club  in cooperation with Ho Chi Minh Television (HTV) organised the program, known as “Spring Journey from the forest to the sea”. The program is held with the aim of summarising the activities of Vu A Dinh Scholarships  and “For Truong Sa – Hoang Sa” Club in 2020; presenting Vu A Dinh rewards for 10 organisations and 20 individuals with outstanding performances, creative ideas, scientific researches, and beneficial projects for residents in highlands, borders, and islands; presenting Tet gifts for People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa District – Khanh Hoa Province, High Command of Navy, Vietnam Coast Guard, Command of Region 2 Navy, and fishserman with difficult financial conditions…

Representatives of CC47 joining the program included: Mr. Le Trung Nam – Chairman of the Board, Mr. Pham Nam Phong – Vice Chairman of the Board, Mr. Ta Nam Binh – Member of the Board cum Head of Internal Audit Supervisory Board, and Mr. Truong Nhat Quang – Advisor of the Management Board.

The program created the opportunities for Units, Companies, Individuals, Philanthropists nationwide and worldwide to contribute and sponsor for projects such as “ Nurture the future, Support the dreams, Light up passions,…”, which Vu A Dinh Scholarships and “For Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” Club conducted and is conducting to maintain, invest and develop the young human resources in highlands, sea, islands.

Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (Stock code: C47) has successfully held the Extraordinary General Meeting 2020 at Building C47 – No.08 Bien Cuong street, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province on November 8, 2020 for getting the approval of the following key issues: Amendment of the organization and operation charters and (Proposal No.1); Issuance of the convertible bonds as per the individual protocol (Proposal No.2), and Revision of Resolution of the Annual General Meeting 2020 (Proposal No.3).

The Meeting was held with participation of 37 shareholders who owned and represented for 10,000,502 shares, equivalent to 58.76% of total voting-shares. Attending at the Meeting, for the Company there were Mr. Truong Nhat Quang – Board Advisor, Mr. Le Trung Nam – Chairman of the Board, Mr. Pham Nam Phong – Vice Chairman of the Board, Mr. Duong Minh Quang – Member of the Board cum General Director, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hai – Member of the Board cum Deputy General Director, Mr. Vo Trong Hieu – Member of the Board and Deputy Head of Internal Audit Committee and Mr. Bui Van Tuynh – Member of the Board.

At the Meeting has discussed, voted and passed with a high rate of consensus (100%) for the key issues proposed by the Board to the Shareholders’ General Meeting and assigned to the Board, the General Director to conduct the next process.
