The inspection visit was not only an opportunity for CC47’s leadership to acknowledge the project’s progress but also to ensure that the entire construction process is being implemented in accordance with commitments and the requirements of the investor – Vietnam Electricity (EVN) – for a project that is “beautiful, safe, and efficient.”

The Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project has been approved under the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050. The project adds an installed capacity of 200 MW (2 units × 100 MW each), improving power supply capability for the Southern region. The total investment is approximately VND 3,965 billion, with around 30% financed by EVN’s own capital and about 70% from commercial loans. On June 3, 2025, the consortium of contractors – including CC47, Lung Lo Construction Corporation, Song Da Corporation – JSC, SCI E&C JSC, Truong Son Construction Corporation, and LILAMA 10 JSC – signed the XL04-TAMR package contract worth VND 1,451 billion, which is the main construction package covering the entire civil works of the project.
The XL04-TAMR package includes key components such as: the intake channel, water intake structure, penstock, powerhouse, tailrace channel, connection of the new plant to the existing electrical system, and other auxiliary structures and infrastructure supporting construction.
The project holds strategic significance in ensuring energy security for the Southern region, providing stable and environmentally friendly electricity sources, contributing to emission reduction and sustainable development. The addition of two new generating units will optimize water resource utilization, reduce operational load on the existing system, extend equipment lifespan, and improve the overall efficiency of the plant. It is expected that Unit No.1 will begin power generation in the third quarter of 2027, while Unit No.2 and the entire project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Since the project’s official commencement in August 2025, many key components have entered an active construction phase. According to the report from Power Project Management Board No.3 (EVNPMB 3), by October 2025, most of the land clearance had been completed, and resettlement plans for priority areas had been finalized. Several work items under the XL04-TAMR package have made significant progress: excavation for the powerhouse foundation has reached about 62%, and the tailrace channel about 25%.

The direct visit of CC47’s senior leadership to the construction site not only demonstrates responsibility but also conveys a clear message to the investor: “CC47 is committed to executing the project in a professional and thorough manner, emphasizing the company’s determination to ensure timely completion, high quality, and environmental protection in accordance with the spirit of ‘beauty, safety, and efficiency.’”
