There are projects that do not require elaborate introductions to leave a lasting impression. They affirm themselves through execution capability and intrinsic value. For CC47, the distinction lies not in what is said, but in what is done – by the “true people of CC47”: a team of managers, engineers, and workers who demonstrate persistence, discipline, and dedication on every construction site. Nam Neun 1 stands as a clear testament to that spirit – where every achievement is forged through sweat, responsibility, and unwavering commitment.
Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Project – CC47
Amid the high mountains of Northeastern Laos, the Nam Neun River flows like a resilient ribbon of green silk through overlapping ranges, carrying the primal breath of ancient forests and the vitality of nature. It is more than a river flowing through mountains; it runs through the history and future of the region, connecting transboundary basins and linking with Vietnam’s Ca River system.
Within this pristine landscape, a project is rising day by day – embodying belief, aspiration, and the pursuit of a meaningful future. Here, challenges are transformed into motivation, and every drop of sweat contributes to a greater ambition: conquering a monumental work. The Nam Neun construction site emerges like a vast, living panorama amid rock, earth, and sky.

The Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Project has a capacity of 124 MW, comprising two generating units, with a total investment of approximately USD 360 million. Its main structure is a 138-meter-high concrete-faced rockfill dam (CFRD), classified as a special-grade project – the highest category requiring the most stringent standards in design, construction, and quality management.
Targeted for commissioning in 2028, with an expected annual output of approximately 580 million kWh, the project demands not only construction capability but also comprehensive organizational excellence at an international EPC level.
In this undertaking, CC47, in partnership with PECC3, executes the EPC contract, with CC47 as the leading consortium partner. Its role extends far beyond on-site execution – it encompasses the integration of design, procurement, construction management, progress control, quality assurance, and operational safety into a unified, synchronized system.
Amid steep mountainous terrain, complex geological conditions, and challenging construction environments in Xiangkhouang, the Nam Neun 1 mega construction site operates with a distinctive momentum: powerful yet steady, urgent yet well-coordinated.
Within that momentum, mechanization forms the backbone of the entire construction rhythm. Fleets of transport vehicles maintain continuous material supply. Excavators, cranes, foundation treatment equipment, slope stabilization systems, and structural construction machinery operate in synchronized coordination. Temporary access roads are opened, maintained, and connected, ensuring that the site remains unified despite the rugged terrain.
Here, mechanization is not merely equipment. It represents the capability to master the site, create proactive control, and transform schedule pressure into a stable, powerful, and continuous construction rhythm.

The stature of Nam Neun 1 is not defined solely by its scale. It also lies in the ability to organize a mega construction site that operates with discipline, structure, and endurance. Machinery alone cannot sustain a project. Behind every operation, it is people who create true strength.
What defines Nam Neun 1 is the convergence of experience and youth. The seasoned generation brings stability, professional maturity, and composure under pressure. The younger generation contributes energy, speed, and proactiveness. Together, they create a team that is traditional yet forward-looking, disciplined yet vibrant.
Amid this vast construction site, quiet yet profound stories emerge – where strength is measured not only by volume, but by responsibility.
There is an engineer whose work revolves around access roads. In such terrain, roads are lifelines. They ensure continuity of materials, movement of machinery, and connection between construction fronts. His work, though not highly visible, sustains the entire site’s rhythm.

Another story is that of a veteran driver with over 20 years of service, who chose to continue working even after reaching retirement age – not out of necessity, but out of deep attachment and responsibility toward the organization.

Small stories, yet they leave the deepest impression of trust and human value.
In July 2025, after Typhoon Wipha destroyed a vital Bailey bridge, CC47 undertook the task of rebuilding it. This was not merely a construction effort, but a meaningful act of responsibility toward the local community.

This is what defines Nam Neun 1 – not only scale, but responsibility.
It is a site where capability, organization, and human depth converge. The stature of an international EPC contractor is not defined by title, but by execution, resilience, and responsibility.
Nam Neun 1 is where CC47’s EPC capability is forged into reality, where mechanization becomes strategy, and where people become trust.
