On September 8, 2025, at Hai Au Hotel – No.489 An Duong Vuong Street, Quy Nhon Nam Ward, Gia Lai Province. In a solemn atmosphere, Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (CC47) held the 50th Anniversary Celebration of its establishment (September 8, 1975 – September 8, 2025) under the theme “Breakthrough Transformation – Reaching Global Heights.” This was not only an occasion to review a half of century of formation and development but also a milestone affirming the courage, stature, and aspirations of CC47, one of Vietnam’s leading construction brands.

The Ceremony was honored to welcome Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan – Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Ha Xuyen – Member of Executive Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of Agriculture and Environment Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang – Member of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai People’s Committee; Mr. Bui Phuong Nam – Director of Power Project Management Board 1, and leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and localities; investors, consultants, banks, insurance companies, universities, colleges, partners, suppliers, valued customers, and generations of CC47’s employees throughout periods.
In the solemn atmosphere of the Ceremony, Mr. Pham Nam Phong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Construction Joint Stock Company 47, emotionally shared:
“CC47 originated as Mechanized Construction Team No.5, established on September 8, 1975, under Decision No.888 QD/TCCB of Ministry of Water Resources (now Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), tasked with building irrigation works serving agriculture, livelihoods, and the economy in Central Vietnam and Central Highlands. In the context of a newly unified country, with people and facilities still facing immense difficulties, from those early days of simple irrigation works, through the resilience, solidarity, and intelligence of generations of leaders – engineers – and workers, CC47 has become a pioneering brand in the construction of complex technical infrastructure, especially in irrigation, hydropower, and underground works. With the mission of delivering high-quality, safe, and world-class construction solutions, accompanying the development of customers, communities, and society, ‘The People of 47’ are ready to step into a new journey with renewed vigor.”

Following the Chairman’s remarks, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang – Member of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, highly appreciated CC47’s enduring contributions to local and national development and commended the achievements CC47 has accomplished over the past 50 years.

Mr. Bui Phuong Nam – Director of Power Project Management Board 1, representative of the Investor, also acknowledged and thanked the tireless efforts of CC47’s workforce, who have accompanied investors in completing national key energy projects, particularly those for EVN.

The presence of leaders from central and local authorities, partners, and customers is a clear testament to CC47’s prestige and position on Vietnam’s construction map.
The 50-year achievements are not only measured by project scale or revenue but also affirmed by breakthrough milestones, showcasing CC47’s pioneering spirit, outstanding capacity, willingness to take risks, and aspiration to rise:
- For Concreting Technology: CC47 was the first in the irrigation sector to apply large-scale Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) technology at Dinh Binh Reservoir project in 2003, followed by Nuoc Trong Reservoir, Dong Nai 4 Hydropower, Trung Son Hydropower, Tan My Irrigation System, Dong Mit Reservoir, etc.; CC47 had also firstly applied in Vietnam, the fly-ash cooling massive concrete technology at Tan Giang Dam in 1999 and pioneered the application of self-compacting concrete for construction of Van Phong Piano Key Weir (PKW) Dam in 2008, the longest river-crossing PKW dam in the world at that time.
- For Earth-Dam Works: CC47 has become a trusted brand associated with high-quality dams nationwide. From the expansive soils of arid Ninh Thuan to the basaltic red soils of the Central Highlands with high porosity and settlement potential – CC47 has pioneered modern soil treatment technology, maximizing use of local materials. As a result, the company successfully built numerous large-scale, high-quality earth dams, including reservoirs of Da Ban, Song Sao, Krong Buk, Song Sat, Song Trau, Chu Prong, Dong Tron, Suoi Dau, Song Ba Ha, etc. Notably, Thuong Kon Tum Earth Dam – constructed by CC47 – currently the tallest earth-dam in Vietnam, demonstrating superior technical expertise and affirming CC47’s leading position in earth-dam construction.
- For Tunneling Works: CC47 completely constructed Vietnam’s largest headrace tunnel (11m inner diameter) at Hoa Binh Hydropower Expansion Project in 2021 and successfully commissioned Unit 1 on August 19, 2025; CC47 also built Vietnam’s longest single-heading drill-and-blast tunnel (5km without access adit) at Thuong Kon Tum hydropower project. Importantly, CC47 was the first in Vietnam to own and operate a TBM at Da Nhim Hydropower Expansion Project in 2015 – a milestone in modern underground work technology in Vietnam.
- The only Contractor at early stage for Bac Ai Pumped-Storage Hydropower Project in 2019, had completed Phase 1 and now under construction of Phase 2. This is the first pumped storage hydropower project in Vietnam and the largest in Southeast Asia.
- The EPC Contractor for Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Project with capacity of 124 MW in Lao PDR in 2024, with total contract value of nearly VND 5,000 billion. This is a significant transformation, affirming CC47’s position as an international EPC contractor.
- Beyond the construction, CC47 has affirmed its multi-sector development through nearly 35 years of operating Hai Au Hotel – “The flagship hotel of Quy Nhon (now Gia Lai Province)”, serving hundreds of thousands of guests annually and creating hundreds of local jobs. Hai Au Hotel is living proof of sustainable presence and a valuable brand asset contributing stable revenues, affirming CC47’s capacity in multi-sector management and development, advancing toward international markets starting with neighboring countries.
Throughout the 50-year journey, CC47 has been honored by the Party and State with many prestigious awards, such as: First-class Labor Medal (1997), Second-class Independence Medal (2011), and notably the title of Labor Hero of the Renovation Period (2000), etc.…
At this Celebration, the Company also received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Gia Lai People’s Committee, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Agricultural and Environmental Trade Union, along with recognition from Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), These are not only rewards but also affirmations of the trust and credibility that CC47 has built over half a century.

Alongside landmark projects, CC47 affirms its position through corporate culture and social responsibility. On this 50th Anniversary, CC47 and partner Vu Phong Energy Group donated the Vu Phong Energy Group donated the “Green Journey, Digital Knowledge” project to two schools: Vinh Thanh Primary School and Vinh Son Semi-boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in Gia Lai’s highlands. The project includes restrooms, solar power system, and computer lab equipped with modern Chromebooks integrated with Google Workspace for Education, spreading the message of sharing, digital knowledge, and green values for future generations, reflecting CC47’s social responsibility and humanistic values.

As part of the celebration, CC47 organized a ceremony to present commemorative medals from the Board of Directors to recognize the contributions of employees who achieved outstanding performance in the first six months of 2025. The company also expressed gratitude to long-serving staff who have devoted their dedication and efforts to CC47’s development as a heartfelt token of appreciation.

Not only leaving its mark through projects and social values, CC47 also organized a series of sports activities (Billiards, Pickleball, Football, and Race) to connect and share with customers and partners. These activities strengthened solidarity, created a lively atmosphere, and spread the positive energy of youth while promoting health to better serve business operations, practically celebrating the company’s 50th Anniversary.
Half a century has been the result of the trust and support from central and local authorities, the steadfast companionship of customers and partners at every project and stage, and above all, the youth, dedication, intellect, and contributions of generations of leaders, engineers, and workers who have built a strong CC47 as it stands today. These are heartfelt and profound words of gratitude to all who have contributed to making CC47’s unforgettable 50-year journey.
In the national transformation era, amidst digital transition, green transition, and deep international integration, CC47 is restructuring into a lean and efficient organization, investing in high-quality resources, strongly applying digital technology, BIM, and AI in design, construction management, and operations, aiming to conquer major domestic and international projects in renewable energy, including hydropower, wind, and solar power, as well as major irrigation and key transport infrastructure projects.
Today, marking its 50th Anniversary, CC47 not only proudly looks back on its past journey but also confidently moves toward the future, determined to successfully realize its mission, vision, and strategy of “Breakthrough Transformation – Reaching Global Heights”, writing the next heroic chapters of the Company in new Era.
