February 15, 2022, in Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province. People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Phu Phong Weir Dam project. Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) is the Main Contractor of Package No.01-XL: Construction and equipment installation for the whole project.
Attended the ceremony, on the Central side, there were President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, leaders of agencies, ministries and branches; On Binh Dinh side, there were Mr.Ho Quoc Dung – Member of Party Central Committee (PCC), Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Mr.Le Kim Toan – Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial National Assembly delegation, the former Secretaries of Provincial Party Committee, Mr.Nguyen Phi Long – Alternate Member of Party Central Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee and the leaders of agencies, departments and units of Binh Dinh province; On the side of Binh Dinh Province’s Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board (the Owner), there was Mr.To Tan Thi – Director; On the side of C47, there were Mr.Pham Nam Phong – Chairman of Board of Directors (BOD), Mr.Duong Minh Quang – Member of BOD cum General Director, Mr.Vo Trong Hieu – Member of BOD cum Head of Internal Audit Board, Mr.Nguyen Huu Hai – Member of BOD cum Deputy General Director, members of the Managerial Board, Heads and Vice Heads of Functional departments under the Company; Representatives of the Design Consultant, Supervision Consultant and number of people in the project area.
Phu Phong Weir Dam project has a total investment of more than 754 billion VND, of which the central budget is 550 billion VND, the rest is local budget, is expected to be constructed within 28 months.
Main item of Phu Phong Weir Dam project is a reinforced concrete weir dam. Total length of dam is 589m, including 350m-wide gate-installed dam at middle the river with 20 gated-cells, each cell wide 15m, the flat steel gates operated by winches; weir spillway on both sides is 239m wide. A 10m-wide traffic bridge including 29 spans, main girder is made of prestressed reinforced concrete on the weir dam.
Phu Phong Weir Dam project, besides its tasks for ensuring stable water supply for 450ha of agricultural and industrial production, living needs, aquaculture, improving the ecological environment in the area, the project also connects traffic on both Kon River banks, from National Highway 19 to National Highway 19B then to Phu Cat Airport and connecting Tay Son center with the northern communes of the district and the western communes of Phu Cat district, facilitate for trade transaction and contributing to the local socio-economic promotion. The project also assumes task of air regulation, creating source of groundwater for the area and for implementation of National Target Program of New Rural Development, sustainable development of the local economy.
